HOW MUCH DO CUSTOM CAKES COST?
The cost of a custom cake varies - It will ultimately depend on how many people it is serving, how many layers and just how much work is involved. Some cakes take several days to complete and are quite labor intensive - I am happy to give a free consultation and estimate for your special cake -

The Theme of my Daughter's 13th Birthday party was "Paris for a Day" - Everything was Pink/Black and Damask. She wanted her cake to be large, simple and elegant - very Parisian if I do say so myself! I did a White Chocolate Poundcake with a Chocolate Mousse Filling and Vanilla Buttercream Crusted prior to layering with Fondant. IT was MAGNIFIQUE!!
I was asked to do a Baby Shower Cake using the colors Orange and Hot Pink with some Zebra - They requested a Square Design - I hand painted all the accents and made the baby shoes out of Gumpaste - I was quite pleased with the little shoes! It was a Chocolate Sponge Cake with Ganache Filling - Very Rich, though the sponge cake was less dense and sweet and complimented the ganache quite well.
This was a cake I whipped up quickly for my Husband on Father's Day. Devil's Food Cake with Vanilla Buttercream topped with Ganache... ooozing with love! : )
For this cake I was requested to use only Brown and white. Devil's Food Cake with Vanilla Buttercream topped with Marshmallow and Chocolate Fondant and edged with more Buttercream. It was like a giant HOHO.
For Easter, I was asked to bring a Carrot Cake to our friend's house - Well, of course, I don't know how to "just make a carrot cake" - This one was torted with six layers. Cream Cheese Icing (and plenty of it!) and crusted with glazed pecans - It was a hit and now my friend's husband has announced that he would like this as his birthday cake!! LOL
